Editorial policy
Short answer: Every claim on this site must be checkable against the vendor's own documentation or reproducible on a Windows machine. Anything we cannot verify is either omitted or explicitly labelled as unverified.
Last verified: 2026-08-01
Principles
- Verifiable over comprehensive: a missing field is better than a guessed one.
- Windows-only scope, consistently applied across every page.
- Clear separation between what the operating system does and what software adds.
- Plain descriptions of limitations, not only strengths.
Unverified information
Where a vendor does not publish a trial length or price in a stable, checkable form, the page says so instead of quoting a number. Trial fields can read 'verify on the official site' — that is deliberate.
Updates
Pages carry a Last verified date. When a vendor changes a product materially, the page is rewritten and the date updated rather than silently patched.
